United Kingdom and specially London has a lot of americans that are celebrating the independence day, even if they are far away (3000 miles) and they are not allowed fireworks (mostly, cause UK has some crazy laws about it). If you are celebrating 4th of July in 2017 in London, here are some interesting locations to go:
– Independence Day Party at Benjamin Franklin House- Celebrate Independence day in London with a day of cake, prosecco and a quiz.
– Major League Baseball match on Hyde Park – Hyde Park will be transformed into a giant baseball field for an all-American 4th of July party with ‘reps’ (i.e. not the actual teams) from Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers facing off for a ball game, with cricket stars like Alex Hales and Jos Buttler being on the field.
– Democrats Abroad UK American Independence Day Picnic on Portman Square Garden – American-style burgers, hotdogs and barbeque food at this annual Independence Day picnic organised by the official arm of the US Democratic Party in the UK. There will be American-themed activities throughout the day, with face painting and crafts for kids and live music to keep adults entertained.
– Stars and Stripes Running Tour – Have some transatlantic fun on a translantic run through London that doubles up as a historical tour. Pass the home of Benjamin Franklin, revisit the location a bartender first whipped up the ‘Hanky Panky’ and find out where a high profile aristocrat hid his wife’s remains. There are three different running paces to choose from: ‘super chilled’, ‘chilled’ and ‘pacey’, all at 5KM.
